One of the most exciting advances in hair loss treatment in recent years has been the NeoGraft hair replacement procedure. This cutting edge treatment has completely changed the way hair loss is treated in the United States and across the globe. By utilizing a minimally invasive technique, NeoGraft hair replacement helps treat hair loss in a way that minimizes side effects and speeds up recovery times. Best of all, NeoGraft can help you get your hair back and have it look completely natural at the same time! At the Dermatology Center of Indiana our doctors and staff have plenty of experience using this advanced hair restoration option. We also understand that for many of our patients NeoGraft hair restoration is a new concept. As such, you may have questions or concerns about the recovery process following NeoGraft treatment, such as how long you will have to wait before hitting the gym again. Below we will take a quick look at these and other concerns related to the recovery phase of your hair transplant treatment.
Working out after hair transplant surgery
Although NeoGraft hair treatment is a minimally invasive surgery, it is still surgery nonetheless. As such, you should take care to follow your doctor’s instructions following the procedure and to refrain from strenuous activity, such as working out. If you subject your body to vigorous physical activity too soon after your surgery then the final results of your hair treatment may be compromised. In terms of working out, you can typically resume light workouts two weeks following your NeoGraft session. You should, however, wait three weeks before resuming your regular workout. Keep in mind, however, that every patient is different, so if you have doubts about whether you should be returning to strenuous physical activity after three weeks then please contact your doctor.
What else can I not do?
The good news when it comes to NeoGraft hair transplant is that the recovery period is very mild when compared to other surgical hair transplant procedures, such as the “strip” method, which often results in scarring, stitching, and/or bleeding. After your NeoGraft session, you will typically be able to return to work well within one week, unless your job requires significant physical labor, in which case you may have to wait longer. Most of the activities you enjoy on a daily basis, however, you can continue to enjoy while you are recovering from your NeoGraft transplant. Please be aware, however, that in order to maximize the success of your treatment, you should refrain from washing your hair for a few days after the procedure.
NeoGraft hair transplant surgery can give you back the hair you have lost. Utilizing patented and exclusive technology, the NeoGraft procedure is both safe and highly effective. As you can see, the recovery from this procedure is usually quite easy and typically will not require you to make too many changes to your lifestyle. Of course, if you have any further questions about NeoGraft or you are curious about whether this hair transplant procedure may be right for you, feel free to get in touch with us at the Dermatology Center of Indiana today.
