Kendra is committed to combining beauty and medicine to get results for her patients and help them gain more confidence through a more refreshed, natural look.

She continually seeks out the newest tech and innovations to help her patients achieve the look and feel they want.

We recently had the opportunity to learn more about Kendra, her approach, and the path that led her to become a board-certified nurse practitioner.

How and when did you know you wanted to be a nurse practitioner?

I knew that I wanted to be a nurse practitioner early in my high school career. I loved that I could be part of helping people feel their best.

Were you always interested in aesthetics, and what was your path to get where you are now?

I had started to gain an interest in aesthetics after working with Dr. Scott Hobson, an oculoplastic surgeon who I worked with in the operating room for several years. My path started in the med spa that he and his partners own. I realized very quickly that I loved being able to help people feel more confident in their appearance through medical aesthetic treatments.  I have always loved makeup, fashion, and decorating for the same reason.

What is your number one tip when it comes to taking care of your skin?

My number one tip is to apply sunscreen to your face, neck, and hands every day.

What do you enjoy most about treating your aesthetic patients and what is unique about your approach?

I love getting to know my patients and learning why they are looking to improve their appearance a little bit. Seeing them go from being nervous about injections to feeling more confident in their skin makes me so happy. I listen to their concerns, and we come up with a plan together that safely fits their goals for their appearance. I like a natural look and never want someone to feel that they look overdone.

For someone who is interested in, but new to medical aesthetic treatments, how do you recommend they get started?

New patients are always welcome and so enjoyable to work with. The best thing to do is to come in for a consultation. There are so many options now for medical aesthetics, so it is my job to help the patient find what is right for them and their budget.

Where are the most common areas you treat with dermal filler?

The mid-face/cheek is the area that is treated the most with dermal filler. When we can fight gravity and keep this area lifted, it results in a refreshed, rested, more youthful look. Lips are the second most popular area. Social media has made such a difference in aesthetics, especially with lip filler. I like for my patients to know that the perfect lip does not look obviously filled. It looks like a youthful, natural, healthy lip. A lot of patients are apprehensive about filler, but the best filler is not ever obvious, and that natural enhancement is what I strive for.

If there is one thing you want your patients to know about you, what would it be?

I have their best interest at heart and only make recommendations that I feel would truly benefit them.

What do you like to do when you are not in the office?

I love to be with my family, shop, travel, and work out.

Kendra and her team at The Dermatology Center of Indiana offer exceptional cosmetic dermatology services and have the advanced training and experience to ensure the highest quality of care.
