How to Get Rid of a Double Chin

Having a double chin can be embarrassing. Even if you’re not overweight, a double chin can easily create the illusion that you look heavier than you actually are. This could result in feelings of insecurity and lower your self-esteem.

The medical term for a double chin is submental fat, but to put it simply, it’s an extra layer of fat under your chin. It’s most often associated with weight gain, but genetics and the loss of collagen associated with aging can also play a role in its development.

Since it isn’t always directly related to weight gain and since you can’t spot reduce fat on your body, double chins can be difficult to treat.

Many online articles claim that you can reduce or eliminate a double chin by performing facial exercises. While well-intentioned, all these exercises do is make you look silly while you contort your face into strange positions. No need to waste your time on exercises that won’t work. We have a long-term solution that will deliver immediate results!

Kybella is an FDA-approved medication which is used to dissolve fat in the submental/double chin area and improve the overall contour of the neck and jawline. It’s the first injection of its kind that’s used to dissolve unwanted fat of more commonly known as a double chin in the neck region. Composed of deoxycholic acid, Kybella is a naturally occurring chemical in the body that breaks down fat. Once the fats cells are destroyed, they are gone forever.

Traditional methods to treat excess fat under the chin and neck area require a neck lift and/or liposuction. For patients who aren’t surgical candidates, Kybella is a viable option for stubborn fatty deposits under the chin.

Side effects of Kybella are minimal, with slight bruising and swelling that should disappear in a few days. The full effects can be seen in about 4-6 weeks. The cost of Kybella will depend on the number of sessions needed to achieve your desired results. A patient will typically need three sessions that are 4-6 weeks apart and average about $5,000.
