We recently had the opportunity to learn more about Kim, her approach to patient care, and the path that led her to become a licensed esthetician.

How and when did you know you wanted to enter the medical field? Were you always interested in aesthetic services, and what was your path to working in aesthetics?

At age 5, I knew I wanted to be in the medical field; however, I was really interested in makeup around 7 years old, and learning about the top trends of Avon products in the 80’s. I always had the latest Tiger Beat or Cosmo magazine on standby. As a medical assistant, I found my passion in the body’s integumentary system – the outer layer. I was amazed at the resiliency and expeditiousness of the healing cells, as well as how many jobs our skin truly has. I knew I wanted to do more, so I interviewed and enrolled in Esthetics Academy. Being a medical esthetician has fulfilled me in ways I never knew it could, along with meeting the most amazing people along the way.

What do you enjoy most about treating your patients and what is unique about your approach?

I wanted to do something in my career that would be challenging and interesting and make a difference in people’s wellness. Forming relationships with patients has always been a priority, but also celebrating big moments in my patients’ lives is the ultimate gift. I believe my family approach, welcoming personality, and educational background is mutually rewarding.

Who do you recommend Dermaplaning for, and what can your patients expect from this treatment?

Dermaplaning is a safe treatment with little risk of side effects. The procedure is a natural approach with no downtime, and it’s an effective procedure. If you’re looking for a quick refresh to make your skin appear more youthful, bright, and fuzz-free, Dermaplaning is for you. Candidates include individuals with acne scars, dull skin, dry skin, sun-damaged skin, fine wrinkles, and peach fuzz – also called Vellus hair.

Which patients would you recommend a VI chemical peel treatment for? What kind of results can patients expect to see?

The VI Chemical Peel treatment is marketed for ages 20+, is safe for all skin types, and is safe for all Fitzpatrick types (l -Vl). The VI Peel is a medium depth peel that is a quick 30-minute procedure and painless. Our patients experience improvement in tone, texture, and clarity within 7 days. These peels also provide anti-aging benefits, target pigmentation, and treat acne. The VI Peel has an incredible post-treatment plan and a take-home kit with instructions, skincare products, and an app to help track your progress.

Which patients would you recommend INTRAcel™ RF Microneedling treatment for?

INTRAcel™ RF Microneedling is an FDA-cleared nonsurgical device that combines microneedling with radio frequency (RF) to ramp up collagen production as a means of treating skin laxity, wrinkles, pitted acne scars, enlarged pores, and stretch marks. A quick 45-minute procedure can be done any time of year and is safe for all skin tones. Prior to your first microneedling procedure, we encourage booking a complimentary skin analysis to formulate a skincare plan.

What do you like to do when you are not in the office?

In my free time, I like to be with my family, travel to new destinations, socialize at local foodie hangouts, or host a cookout. I love to volunteer, garden or work on home improvements, and walk my Frenchie a few times per day.

Answer this question: If you know me you would know…

If you know me you know I am an extroverted empath who has a passion for skincare and nurturing my loved ones. I am dedicated to serving the community with the utmost quality of care.
